The Love List

est. 2006

In honor of the magazine's April/May 2016 cover feature "The New Outlaws" we teamed up with Garden & Gun to pick the brains of some of our favorite rising talent ("young guns", as it were) about their heroes. “There may never be another Willie or Waylon," the issue reads, "but a contemporary wave of musicians are pushing back against the Nashville formula, reinvigorating traditional country sounds, and carrying on the outsider spirit.”

Featured musicians Cale Tyson, Marlon Williams and The Banditos' Corey Parsons and Steve Pierce weigh in with a collaborative playlist of the music that influences their own. "I'm pretty sure Guy is my favorite songwriter of all time." Said Tyson, on picking country legend Guy Clark's "Let Him Roll". "This one's a tragedy about a whore in Dallas. What's not to like?"

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE ARCHIVES:

Don't forget JNG's Song-A-Day playlist (our most popular), either.
