12 YEARS OF CULTURE AND STYLE IN THE MODERN SOUTH

Inspiring Feed: Lulu DK

STYLE, ART, INPISIRING FEEDSJess Graves

Painter Lulu deKwiatowski, known to her contemporaries as Lulu DK, creates stunning original paintings and collages that give way to her sought-after textiles, interior and lifestyle designs. She honed her approach while studying fine arts at Parsons School of Design before departing for Paris, where a visit to a fabric mill changed her life. The designer's instagram, (much like her book, "LULU") brims with vibrant collages that tell the story of a well-traveled, artistic life.

Agenda: HATCH and Buru Take to the Road

AGENDA, STYLEJess Graves

Who + What: Just in time for Mother’s Day, Hatch + BURU, two brands known for solving wardrobe challenges for moms, have teamed up to create a capsule collection designed to encourage parents to embrace personal style during life with kids, not abandon it.

The chic pieces, designed for comfort and easy access, include a tie-front day dress, a simple jumpsuit, a cropped pant, a classic blazer, staple tees and a perfect white button-down shirt: the holy grail of garments for post-baby bodies. The collaboration will launch on April 22 with a road trip where the ladies will visit four southern cities to host trunk shows and socialize with their customers.

When + Where: The collaboration will launch on April 22 with a road trip where the ladies will visit four southern cities – Nashville, Birmingham, Atlanta & Charleston.

Art Proust: when we pull 5 questions from the famous Proust questionnaire and add 1 great Southern artist to answer 'em. Today we drop our pin in the county seat of Lafayette, Mississippi (Oxford, to be exact) where painterBradley S. Gordon calls home. There, he looks to wildlife for inspiration, citing the animals of the South as his muse. Here's what's on Brad's mind.

It's one of the toughest tickets out there, which means most of us will be watching The Masters Tournament from the comfort of our own living rooms. For the lucky few who get to spend a long day (or five) treading the sod of Augusta National, Craft & Vine restaurant and bar has become the go-to local watering hole for the upwardly mobile.

Should you be saddled up to their bar or just in the mood to flex your mixing muscles at home, we love their Garden City cocktail. Named for golf’s holy city, this sip combines tequila Cabeza and green Chartreuse with fresh squeezed lime juice, pineapple and a mint sprig garnish for a light, refreshing finish.

THE GARDEN CITY

BY NICK MAYO, CRAFT & VINE, AUGUSTA

1.5 oz Reposado tequila

.75 oz pineapple juice

.5 oz green Chartreuse

.5 oz lime juice

.5 oz simple syrup

Mint sprig

Using a jigger, measure and combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake and pour over ice. Serve down, in a rocks glass and garnish with a mint sprig.
